This letter was received from a former student from our community...

Dear My Neighbors Foundation,

Throughout my high school years, I was able to participate in several activities because of a certain neighbor. My Neighbors Foundation has been the one neighbor that is always there for everyone in the community.

Every child in school wants to do everything that the other students are doing to fit in. But some families cannot afford to let their children do every activity. For example, I wanted to go to prom but the tickets are not cheap and, for girls, getting ready for the prom - like getting your hair and nails done - can be expensive. MNF supplies coupons for girls to get their hair and nails done. They also supplied the money to buy a prom ticket and, because of that, I was able to attend my prom.

School supplies are something every child needs for school and teachers can be strict on certain things that students need for their classes. The supplies can be expensive and, for families who have multiple school-age children, the price adds up. My family has five children and with the help from MNF, my siblings and I were all able to get the school supplies we needed. MNF helped my family out a great deal with our needs along with other families in the community.

Please donate to the foundation so they are able to helpout other families in need.

- J.L.

Kids who need help tend to feel invisible and isolated. Our children need to be aware of the support from the community-at-large and to know they are valued by their neighbors.

It breaks our heart to see a child denied participation because of a lack of funds. This is such a wonderful community. Together we can make a positive difference in a child's life.
